FC Barcelona Ready for First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
