The controversial, American and Israeli-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) declares it is terminating its aid operations in the Palestinian territory, following nearly half a year.

The foundation had previously halted its multiple aid distribution centers in Gaza following the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect in recent weeks.

The GHF aimed to circumvent United Nations channels as the primary provider of humanitarian assistance to Gazans.

United Nations organizations and other humanitarian groups declined to participate with its system, saying it was improper and dangerous.

Many residents were lost their lives while attempting to obtain sustenance amid turbulent circumstances near the organization's distribution points, primarily from Israeli forces, according to the UN.

Israel said its troops fired cautionary rounds.

Operation Conclusion

The GHF said on recently that it was concluding activities now because of the "satisfactory fulfillment of its humanitarian effort", with a total of three million packages containing the corresponding to over 187 million food portions distributed to Gazans.

The organization's top administrator, the executive director, further mentioned the American-directed Civil-Military Coordination Center - which has been created to help carry out US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan - would be "taking over and developing the approach the organization demonstrated".

"The organization's system, in which Palestinian factions were unable to divert and benefit from humanitarian assistance, played a huge role in bringing Palestinian factions to negotiations and securing a halt in hostilities."

Feedback and Statements

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - approved the termination of the aid organization, based on information.

An official from declared the foundation should be made responsible for the negative impact it created to local residents.

"We request all international human rights organisations to ensure that it does not escape accountability after resulting in fatalities and harm of thousands of Gazans and concealing the food deprivation strategy practised by the Israeli government."

Foundation History

The GHF began operations in Gaza on May 26th, a week after Israel had partially eased a complete restriction on aid and commercial deliveries to Gaza that continued for 77 days and caused severe shortages of vital resources.

Three months later, a food crisis was announced in Gaza City.

The foundation's nourishment distribution centers in the southern and middle regions of Gaza were managed by American private security firms and located inside areas controlled by Israeli forces.

Relief Agency Issues

United Nations agencies and their collaborators claimed the approach breached the basic relief guidelines of neutrality, impartiality and independence, and that directing needy individuals into militarised zones was inherently unsafe.

The UN's human rights office reported it tracked the killing of at least 859 Palestinians seeking food in the proximity to foundation locations between spring and summer months.

Another 514 people were killed near the paths taken by United Nations and additional relief shipments, it added.

Most of them were fatally wounded by the Israeli military, based on the agency's reports.

Divergent Narratives

Israel's armed services said its troops had fired warning shots at persons who advanced toward them in a "threatening" way.

The organization declared there were no shooting events at the aid sites and claimed the international organization of using "inaccurate and deceptive" figures from Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry.

Ongoing Situation

The foundation's prospects had been indefinite since Palestinian factions and Israeli authorities consented a halt in hostilities arrangement to execute the initial stage of the American administration's peace initiative.

It said humanitarian assistance would take place "absent meddling from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the international relief society, in combination with other worldwide bodies not associated in any manner" with militant groups and the Israeli government.

International organization official the UN spokesman declared this week that the GHF's shutdown would have "zero effect" on its operations "since we never collaborated with them".

The spokesperson additionally stated that while more aid was getting into Gaza since the halt in hostilities began on early October, it was "not enough to meet all the needs" of the 2.1 million population.
