Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down following established safety measures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
